FRASTE GT ROBOT 275: Automated Track Mounted Drilling Equipment for Geothermal

FRASTE GT ROBOT 275 track mounted geothermal drill rig with automated rod and casing handlin

Geothermal drilling continues to demand greater productivity, safer operations, and equipment capable of completing more work with fewer interruptions. The GT ROBOT 275 brings those priorities together in an advanced track mounted geothermal drill rig designed around automation, onboard rod and casing capacity, and efficient material handling.

Available through Bore Logic, the GT ROBOT 275 represents a new generation of track mounted drilling equipment for geothermal contractors. Its double-rotary drilling system, automated rod and casing handling, substantial onboard storage, and remote-controlled operation are designed to minimize operator intervention while maximizing drilling productivity.

A Track Mounted Geothermal Rig Built for Production

The GT ROBOT 275 combines the mobility of a track mounted geothermal rig with the drilling capabilities required for demanding geothermal projects. Powered by a 275 hp CAT C7.1 diesel engine, the GT ROBOT delivers 40,466 lbf of pull-up force and 17,985 lbf of pull-down force. A 26.2-foot rotary head stroke gives contractors the capacity needed to maintain an efficient drilling cycle. The result is a purpose-built geothermal drilling platform designed to keep crews productive in challenging drilling conditions.

Double-Rotary Drilling Capability

One of the defining features of the GT ROBOT 275 is its double-rotary drilling system. The drill pipe rotary head delivers up to 8,851 ft-lb of torque with a maximum speed of 160 rpm. The casing rotary head provides up to 28,027 ft-lb of torque and a maximum speed of 46 rpm. Combined with a casing lifter capacity of 66,139 pounds, the GT ROBOT gives geothermal contractors a powerful system for managing drilling and casing operations from one machine.

650 Feet of Drill Pipe Onboard

Productivity isn’t only about how quickly a rig drills. It’s also about eliminating the interruptions that prevent it from drilling. The GT ROBOT 275 carries 66 drill rods in its onboard magazine. Each rod measures 3.50 inches in diameter and 10 feet long, providing approximately 650 feet of total drill pipe capacity onboard. Having that capacity directly on the rig reduces the need for repeated rod handling and helps crews maintain a more continuous drilling workflow.

650 Feet of Casing Onboard

The GT ROBOT applies the same concept to casing. Its onboard casing magazine holds 66 casings measuring 5.98 inches in diameter and 10 feet long, providing approximately 650 feet of total casing capacity onboard. With both drill pipe and casing carried directly on the machine, contractors can reduce material handling and keep critical drilling components close to the operation. For deep geothermal boreholes, fewer interruptions can translate directly into greater daily production.

Automation Designed to Reduce Operator Intervention

The GT ROBOT 275 isn’t simply a powerful track mounted geothermal drill rig. It is designed around a more automated drilling workflow. Automated rod and casing handling, remote-controlled operation, and onboard storage work together to reduce repetitive manual handling and simplify the drilling process. The operator can control the machine remotely while maintaining visibility of the drilling operation, helping create a more efficient and controlled jobsite. For geothermal contractors facing labor challenges and increasing production demands, automation can help crews accomplish more with the equipment and personnel already on the job.
